Release: Ronald Snijders - The Nelson&Djosa sessions

Published by SixStep

Heads up for Ronald Snijders’ new album The Nelson & Djosa Sessions (Nelson & Djosa production). National’s most talented flutist, Snijders, has always been a jazz pioneer with a unique and progressive Surinam rooted sound. Throughout many years he’s been a big inspiration, especially to many creatives from Surinam.

Neoteric producers Nelson & Djosa (Niels Nieuborg en Jasper Cremers) digged up some of Ronald Snijders classics. They set up studio sessions with Snijders and some renowned musicians from the jazz/world music scene to re-create the tracks. On The Nelson & Djosa Sessions Snijders worked together with artists including Bassekou Kouyate & Ngoni Ba, Azymuth, Avishai Cohen, Edmar Castaneda, Jamire Williams, Dwight Trible, Orlando Julius & The Heliocentrics and Ed Motta.

Besides an outstanding and refreshing new album, the documentary ‘Easy Man’ (prod. Nelson&Djosa and Dennis de Groot), about Ronald Snijders career, premiered. It’s a beautiful film to complete the whole project. Great job!!
